Racanelli South recently completed the construction of a new, 7,350 square foot, ABC Store located in Oakdale Village in Hillsborough, NC. The store is conveniently situated on the major thoroughfare of Old NC Highway 86, between I-85 and I-40. The project, which was awarded in January 2019, features 4,275 square feet of sales space and the remaining space being utilized for warehouse and office functions.
With a design reminiscent of mountain architect, the new ABC Store features an open, transparent front entry with clerestory windows –incorporating a large window with a series of small windows to let in natural lighting. A pronounced entrance delineates the main entry to the sales floor. Also featured in the store is a curved roof which splays out on the property’s Oakdale Drive side. The roof serves three purposes: prominent design element that highlights structural design capabilities, solar shade for the upper storefront. and weather protection for pedestrian traffic.
Serving as Project Manager on the ABC Store was Scott Drebitko. The architect was Bradley McClung from Summit Design & Engineering Services.
