Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. (Melville, NY), a leading construction management, general contractor and design/build resource, is serving as the General Contractor in the construction of a 111-room Hampton Inn & Suites located in Mahwah, NJ. Racanelli was awarded the project by Oto Development, LLC (Spartanburg, SC) following a competitive bid process.
The new Hampton Inn & Suites is situated on a property that was formerly a dairy farm. To prepare the site for the new construction project, the three barns on the property were demolished.
When completed, the Hampton Inn & Suites will be a three-story, 69, 354-square foot structure featuring wood frame construction, pre-fabricated floor and roof trusses and an exterior finish insulation system (EFIS). The building will have a flat roof with EPDM rubber system. Its main entrance will be covered with porte cochere. Also incorporated into the building will be plywood floors with gypcrete topping. All rooms will be equipped with individual HVAC units that are controlled by a wireless system. The property will have an indoor swimming pool.
The property will encompass an underground storm water retention system composed of thirteen 150-foot long rows of five foot-diameter pipe.
The projected completion date of Hampton Inn & Suites is May 2010.
