Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. (Melville, NY, www.racanelliconstruction.com), a leading construction management, general contractor and design/build resource for commercial, industrial, retail, medical, pre-engineered and multi-unit residential projects, recently served as the General Contractor for the construction of the All American Assisted Living at Coram facility. All American Assisted Living is a residential community for seniors seeking social interaction, personal care services and leisure pursuits. The organization provides assisted living, memory care, and respite care services. The facility is located at 463 Middle Country Road in Coram, New York. The project was valued at $12.6 million.
Working on behalf of the owner, Kaplan Development Group, Racanelli was part of the team that also included: Engelbrecht & Griffin Architects; the civil engineering firm of Hyduk Engineering; the structural engineering firm of Shelly Engineering, Inc.; the mechanical, engineering and plumbing firm of BLW Engineers; and the interior design firm of Merlino Designs.
Racanelli constructed a 58,000 square foot, two story building which features a covered front porch, rear patio with trellis, courtyard, bocce court and putting green. There is on-site pump station. The traditional/modern design incorporates shingles in a weathered wood color, upper shake siding in a linen color and lower running siding in a sand color. Among the amenities residents at All American Assisted Living have are a sitting parlor, bistro, dining room, library, media room and wellness site.
The only challenges experienced were those associated with constructing a project during the COVID-19 pandemic.
