Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. Completes The Castle – A Luxury Apartment/Mixed Use Complex

Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. (Melville, NY, www.racanelliconstruction.com), a leading construction management, general contractor and design/build resource for commercial, industrial, retail, medical, pre-engineered and multi-unit residential projects, recently completed construction of The Castle –a six-floor, 107,000 square-foot luxury apartment and mixed-used complex in Port Chester, NY. Racanelli Construction served as the General Contractor/Construction Manager on behalf of its customer, Castle Port Chester LLC. The project developer was Madigan Development.

The Castle includes 120 residential units including studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a parking garage, amenities lobby, courtyard, rooftop amenities and retail space. The apartments feature modern, gourmet kitchens with islands, white quartz countertops, European-style cabinetry and wood-style flooring throughout the kitchen and living areas. Some of the apartments also have walk-out patios. Among the complex’s lavish amenities are an elegant lobby with grand entrance, rooftop terrace with grills and lounge, a clubroom with flat-screen television and billiards, a private movie theater, state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center, and executive conference rooms and business center with Internet access and workstations. There is even a bike repair shop and personal storage provided. Security is provided through controlled access to the building and a private, multi-level parking garage. The Castle has on-site professional property management.

Racanelli Construction used concrete and wood framing along with brick and Hardie plank siding in The Castle’s construction. The U-shaped building was designed to best suit the project’s site location. One of the challenges Racanelli had to overcome in the project’s construction was the property’s landscape which sloped in many directions. The Castle is a LEED-certified project attesting to its focus on energy-efficiency.

Serving on the Racanelli Construction team for The Castle project were: Project Executive Michael Racanelli, Project Manager Jerry Tudisco and Project Superintendents Anthony Mish and Jose Campos.

The construction component of The Castle’s development was valued at $29 million.
